DESCRIPTION:
Thyroid hormones in the body work by increasing the general level of metabolism, which means that in case of excess thyroid hormones, the consumption of metabolism will be increased. The thyroid gland affects the strengthening of mental processes, the acceleration of the heart, breathing and digestion. Thyroid hormones also affect the entire neuroendocrine system, so the influence on behavior and general mood is great. Free hormones are suitable for use in the cells of all tissues in the body, which maintains a normal metabolism, and that is why the amount of free hormones in the blood, fT4 and fT3, is the amount that can be used in the cells. Namely, free and bound T3 and T4 are in a kind of disagreement during pregnancy or in women using contraception, because hormones that are secreted more during pregnancy and when taking contraception can physiologically affect the increase in the amount of total bound thyroxine and triiodothyronine.
