DESCRIPTION:
Zinc – one of the most important elements in the body is crucial for immunity. It is stored mainly in skeletal muscles and bones. Zinc deficiency most often occurs due to improper diet and other unhealthy lifestyle habits.

DETERMINATION:
Sample: Serum

CLINICAL SIGNIFICANCE:
Reduced zinc values: In case of reduced enteral absorption (Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, celiac disease, chronic liver disease, alcoholism), loss of zinc (kidney insufficiency, diabetes mellitus, burns, taking laxatives, diarrhea), parenteral nutrition. Increased zinc values: In case of increased stress (glass industry, electroplating, insecticides, fungicides)

RESULT:
REFERENCE INTERVAL: 9 to 18 mmol/L The result is expected in about 10 days.
