CRP (C reactive protein)

DESCRIPTION:
CRP is the most sensitive indicator of the acute phase of inflammation. It increases 1 to 100 times within 24 hours in response to an acute stimulus. A significant increase in CRP concentration is found in inflammation, tissue necrosis, trauma, bacterial and viral infections, and malignant neoplasms.

DETERMINATION:
CRP is determined by the immunoturbidimetric method. The sample for analysis is serum or plasma. The stability of the sample is 11 days at 20°C -25°C, 2 months at 2°C – 8°C, 3 years at -20°C.

RESULT:
Reference interval: less than 5 mg/L
