Perianal Tape Test

DESCRIPTION:
The perianal tape test is performed to detect *Enterobius vermicularis* infection (pinworm). The sample is collected using cellophane tape (scotch tape), which is then affixed to a microscope slide after collection. Preferably two days, and obligatorily one day, before sampling, the patient must not wash the perianal region, as female *E. vermicularis* emerge at night and lay their eggs there, which are crucial for diagnosis. The slide should be wrapped in soft paper to prevent breakage during transport. After collecting the sample, hands must be washed.

RESULTS:
Results are ready the same day.
