They belong to the family of antifilagrin antibodies, as well as antikeratin antibodies and antiperinuclear factor. Recently, citrulline has been found to be a target peptide of various autoantibodies in the serum of people with RA.<\/p>\n<p>One of the most important diagnostic advantages of anti-CCP antibodies is their presence in the early stage of RA. Previous studies have shown a high specificity of these antibodies for RA (95-98%), with a sensitivity similar to that of RF (rheumatism factor) (60-80%). Although the anti-CCP test is superior to RF in terms of specificity, the results show that the most reliable is the combined determination of both tests, where the positivity of at least one allows the separation of the population with suspected RA, while the positivity of both tests supports the confirmation of the diagnosis of RA with a specificity of 97%.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DETERMINATION:<\/strong><br \/>\nSAMPLE: Serum<\/p>\n<p><strong>CLINICAL SIGNIFICANCE:<\/strong><br \/>\nRheumatoid arthritis (RA) is the most common inflammatory systemic autoimmune disease with progressive deterioration of the joints, but also multiple organ damage that results in a decrease in the quality of life and an increase in mortality. Anti CCP has been shown to be a highly sensitive and specific marker for the early detection of RA.
