DESCRIPTION:<\/strong>
\nAnti HCV, antibodies that are produced as a response of the body to the presence of hepatitis C. Hepatitis C is transmitted parenterally, that is, by introducing the virus into the blood through infected blood or infected objects (in intravenous drug addicts). There is no vaccine against hepatitis C since specific HCV antibodies are not protective.<\/p>\n

CLINICAL SIGNIFICANCE:<\/strong>
\nThe presence of anti-HCV in the blood of an infected person can be demonstrated only 2-3 months after infection. Therefore, a negative result does not necessarily mean the absence of infection if it is tested too early, and a positive result cannot confirm whether it is an acute or chronic phase. Very often, hepatitis C infection turns into a chronic form that can end in cirrhosis of the liver.<\/p>\n
